On another day we decided to get a taste of Mexico and leave our hotel and took a taxi to Mercado 28, a huge market for tourist where you can buy plenty of souvenirs and have traditional Mexican food. We had live musicians approach us and of course we paid to have them play. Live music is one of my favorite things to run into when I'm abroad. We then got approached by a whirl of vendors, most of them being kids. We bought hand made items from many children, not because we wanted the items but because we wanted to support the children. George wanted to buy off every child. Unfortunately, you can only help so much. We even ended up offering our left overs from lunch.
One of our favorite nights was going to the CHIC cabaret restaurant show. It is not just dining but an experience with music and entertaining acts. The show begins within a few minutes after being escorted to your table. I felt like I was at an award show haha. There was a six course menu and drinks throughout the evening. I recommend this show to any guest who stays at the TRS.
As for restrictions we did not have to get tested prior to going but did anyway. We were prepared with our vaccination cards and test results. They did not ask for any of this. A day or two before departure we needed to get a negative test to return to the US. Our hotel like most hotels in Mexico have on site testing. Hopefully when we return to Mexico it won't be during these crazy times! Mexico now holds a special place in our hearts. We loved the resort and experience and can't wait to go back! Have you been to Mexico?
