Our engagement story

Monday, September 12, 2022

Hi beautiful people! It feels good to be back. It’s been a few months since I’ve written here . The last few blogs I wrote were sad and I mean like really sad. It’s been quite a transformation these last few months. I am here to share some big news.

We're Engaged!

On the 28th of June my best friend asked me to marry him in one of the most gorgeous places in the world (Turks & Caicos) and of course I said YES! The trip started off as just what we both needed, a place to get away, relax and reconnect with one another. I woke up and went for a massage that morning. It might have been the best massage I ever had. As I write this I am in need of another vacation!
I had a pretty good feeling we would be engaged soon, I just didn't know when. We were on the beach having a photoshoot which is something we had planned to do together but as soon as George started his speech of '' You know you're my best friend '' I knew this was it. I always thought my proposal would be tearful but I was too over joyed to cry. I laughed a lot, actually a little too much that I felt bed but I was full of emotions. I couldn't believe the moment was here. One of the things I value most in life is to have a life partner and it is now a dream come true.

I wanted to call everyone after it happened but everyone knew! My now Fiancé George planned this beautiful surprise proposal video with the help of my sister. After we got Engaged on the beach we went straight to dinner. I was on such a high that I barely ate anything at dinner. When I saw the proposal video it had a bunch of our family and friends congratulating us. Kind words of love from our parents, aunts, uncles, siblings, cousins, friends.
Anyone who knows me knows I live for family. It touched my heart very much that he would do something to include my family but it didn’t end there. After a long day of flying home that Saturday my Fiancé had another surprise. When we got home from the airport my family and friends were in our apartment waiting for us. My sister has coordinated this with him all along and she decorated our  apartment. It was the most perfect proposal and vacation. I wish every woman can experience this.

Since then the summer has been a whirlwind of plans. 2023 has so much in store. As I look back I am grateful for all the road blocks and detours that took me to where I am now. All the lessons through out my life, even in our relationship. We’ve had to heal old childhood wounds and have triggered the crap out of each other. One thing I learned is it's not about the fancy dinners and vacations, it's about what goes on beyond the scenes to make a relationship work. In this milestone, I am celebrating what goes down behind the scenes to make a relationship work. The work we made to get to where we are today has made us more aligned than ever and I will never take that for granted. When you are faced with challenges but you work through them together. How you find yourselves back in a place of choosing one another through compassion and forgiveness is the real test. It’s like the familiar saying in what we've heard in vows “in good times and in bad and sickness and in health”.  With that being said. I'd like to thank you George for being my person, for being my team mate. I'd like to also thank our family and friends who have been there for us, who have supported us. The best is yet to come and I can’t wait to share more details of our special day.
